Fire Warden Training

Nominated staff play a significant role in the successful evacuation of premises. Our courses provide a comprehensive guide for fire wardens and fire marshals, providing them with a thorough understanding of their responsibilities and helping to give them the confidence to carry out their roles successfully.

Fire Warden Training Course Content

Metro Safety is now offering a newly revised training course for Fire Wardens. We firmly believe our programme is the gold standard in Fire Warden training. The course aims to provide delegates with a basic understanding of fire safety, fire procedures, fire survival techniques and the role and responsibilities of the Fire Warden or Marshal and takes delegates through the correct course of action to follow in the event of an emergency.

The course can be completed as a morning or afternoon session taking approximately 3 hours based on the number of participants. It is an interactive, classroom based course which covers the following:

• Brief history of major fire events over past 20 years and what we've learned from these.
• Current Fire Safety Regulations.
• Theory of how a fire starts and is sustained including fire triangle.
• Spread of smoke and fire and the dangers of smoke inhalation.
• How fire alarm systems in commercial properties are installed and how an alarm is activated.
• What to do in the event of a fire or fire drill.
• The role of the Fire Warden.
• Current best practice regarding building evacuations and use of exits.
• Fire Safety features designed into your building.
• Interactive emergency evacuation exercise highlighting the importance of well trained Fire Wardens.

We take a short break at the halfway point and at the end of the presentation participants will be given a short questionnaire.

We can accept up to 20 participants per course provided your room is large enough. All we require is a wall mounted screen or monitor to allow screen mirroring of a laptop and of course a WiFi connection.

In addition to our standard courses we are able to offer an exclusive course tailored around your emergency plan, specific staff roles or other key requirements of your organisation. Training is available at your own offices or at a suitable specified location of your choice.
